Quiet Garden mornings are held on the third Wednesday of most months.
During a recent Quiet Garden Day one participant wrote this:
A leaf falls, setting stillness of the pond a-quiver –
A drop tips off the end of a cedar leaf,
transformed to ripple –
May I be set a-quiver, turn to ripple
By falling, dropping, Grace.
For Quiet garden mornings please arrive any time after 10.30 am for an 11.00am start. The morning involves a short introduction to Christian meditation followed by 20-30 minutes’ meditation. After that you are free to walk in the grounds, read, paint, draw or walk the labyrinth. At 12.50 we have ten minutes during which we share (or not) what went on for us during the morning. We welcome people of all faiths and none. Don’t worry if you have not meditated before. It is simple and we will give some guidance.
You are very welcome to stay on for a shared lunch if you wish to do so. This normally consists of a simple vegetarian soup and whatever food (bread, cheese, fruit etc) people bring to share. You are not expected to bring food to share on your first visit. We normally finish by 2.00pm.

There are no Quiet Garden Mornings in January, August or December.
